unit is controlled from the Straight Jogger Control PCB. The Straight Jogger
has variable jogging power.
Tray Full Sensor:
A tray full sensor controls the collator when the tray is full.
An error message will be displayed.
3.10.2 Jogging Power Adjustment
If the overall jogging power is too weak or too strong it can be adjusted by
changing the distance between the vibrator coil and armature (see Figure 3:42)
in the two vibrator boxes. The two vibrator boxes should be adjusted individ-
ually. Disconnect the power cable from one of the vibrator boxes whilst ad-
justing the other.
Two M6 nuts, accessed through the holes in each vibrator box housing (see
Figure 3:42), are used to either increase or decrease the distance between the
vibrator coil and armature. Turning the nuts clockwise increases the overall
jogging power by moving the coil and armature closer together.
If the coil and armature are too close the vibrator box may rattle. If this is hap-
pening, turn the nuts anti-clockwise to increase the distance between the coil
and armature.
3.11.1 Adjusting Inter Tower Distance
The Inter Tower Distance is an electronic means of ensuring that the sets from
each tower merge together correctly. The default Inter Tower Distance is
1290, but this can be adjusted to allow for fine-tuning the set alignment if
required.
Procedure
With both DigiVAC towers switched on, touch
MENU
on the GUI screen.
1. In the
USER SETTINGS
menu, select the
SUPERVISOR
security level.
2. Select
MACHINE OPTIONS
and adjust the
INTER TOWER DISTANCE
.
• To adjust the distance so that the Tower B set arrives behind the Tower
A set, make a (-) adjustment.
• To adjust the distance so that the Tower B set arrives before the Tower
A set, make a (+) adjustment.
• Alternatively, touch the screen between the +/- buttons to open a key-
pad window from which you can key in a precise measurement.
3. Exit the
MACHINE OPTIONS
menu and select the
BASIC
menu. Run some sets
through the system and check that your adjustments are satisfactory. Make
further adjustments in the same way if necessary.
Note:
Any adjustments that you make will be saved to the flash memory inside
the GUI CPU. Loading the
DEFAULT JOB TEMPLATE
will not reset
INTER
TOWER
DISTANCE
to factory default.
