Watkiss BookMaster Service Manual - Issue 1 - 14/12/00

• To increase belt travel, turn the key clockwise.
• To decrease belt travel, turn the key anti-clockwise.

5. Repeat steps 4 and 5 as necessary.
6. Replace the staple lid panel.

3.3.4 Top Jog Belt Clutch Replacement

Procedure

Refer to IPC 964-401 - BookMaster Pro Issue 2 - Figure 22
1. Switch off the mains power supply and disconnect the power lead.
2. Remove the rear panel.
3. Slacken the belt tensioner plates (253-233/234) and pull them towards you

to release the belt tension.

4. Remove the nylon gear (192-422) and location pin from the top jog clutch

shaft.

5. Remove the ‘C’ clip and nylon washer from the L/H side of the top jog

clutch shaft.

6. Remove the split pin from the top jog clutch shaft.
7. Unplug the top jog clutch connecting wires from the Main Control PCB

(PL11).

8. Unscrew the two M5 x 10mm retaining screws and remove the clutch

anchor bracket. Pull the connection wire and earth strap through the hole
in the bracket.

9. Slide the top jog clutch shaft to the left and remove the clutch and pulley

assembly from the centre plates.

Note

: There are two nylon washers

located on the shaft between the pulley and L/H centre plate.

10. Clutch replacement is the reverse of removal.

Note: When tensioning the top jog clutch drive belt, there should be 10-20mm play at
the centre point between the top pulley and the tensioner.
