Leaving the mass spectrometer ready for operation

Leave the mass spectrometer in Operate mode except in the following cases:

•

When performing routine maintenance

•

When changing the source

•

When leaving the mass spectrometer unused for a long period

In these instances, put the mass spectrometer in Standby mode, see the online

Help for details.

Emergency shutdown of the mass spectrometer

To shut down the mass spectrometer in an emergency

1. Operate the power button on the front of the mass spectrometer.

2. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the mass spectrometer.

Warning:

The instrument’s power switch does not isolate it from the

main power supply. To isolate the instrument, disconnect the power

cable from the back of the instrument.

Caution:

Data can be lost during an emergency shutdown.
