Combined APPI/APCI Source

Switching on the UV lamp (from the MassLynx™ Tune window) provides a 

constant photon output. The intensity of incident radiation upon the sample 

molecules is varied by manually adjusting the distance between the UV lamp 

and probe tip, using the handle on the APPI lamp drive assembly to move the 

whole assembly on its mounting shaft. The mounting shaft’s indexing 

numbers aid in setting this distance.
