Installation Instructions
Firebox X® Core™ and Firebox® SSL Core
Installing the Hard Drive
Read all instructions before beginning the installation procedure. If you purchased the hard drive as an upgrade
option, keep a copy of your reseller invoice for the hard drive upgrade. You must supply this proof of purchase to
WatchGuard with any warranty claims.

Turn off the Firebox.

AUTION
The hard drive is not a hot swap device. Failure to turn the Firebox off before installing the hard drive can result in damage
to the hard drive.

On the front right side of the Firebox, look for the door covering the hard drive slot.

Lift the door and find the two release tabs for the hard drive tray.
System Requirement
Hardware
The hard drive will only operate on a Firebox®X Core™ model X700, X1000,
X2500, or Firebox®SSL Core. The hard drive upgrade will not operate on a
Firebox X500. To use the hard drive on a Firebox X500, you must first purchase
a Firebox model upgrade.
Appliance Software
The Firebox® must have an approved version of appliance software installed.
For Firebox®SSL Core, the appliance software is included on the hard drive. To
make sure your Firebox has the most current approved version of appliance
software, refer to

Environment
The hard drive is not a hot swap device. The Firebox®
must
be turned off during
the procedure.
