APPENDIX 2: TROUBLESHOOTING
SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
The airfryer does not work. The plug of the airfryer is not in the wall
socket.
Plug the airfryer in an earthed wall socket.
The basket is not pushed deep enough in the
airfryer.
Push the basket completely into the airfryer.
There is no voltage on the socket. Check with another electrical device that the
socket has power; if so try the airfryer again.
The airfryer is broken. Send the airfryer in for repair.
The dish is still under cooked or raw. The portion is too large. Use a smaller portion.
The set temperature is too low. Set a higher temperature.
The cooking duration is to short. Increase the duration.
The dish is not evenly cooked. The dish requires a shake or stir. Interrupt the cooking programme
half way and shake the dish.
The (frozen) fries are not crispy. The fries are not suited for an oven or airfryer. Use fries suited for an oven, or slightly sprinkle
the fries with a few drips of oil.
The basket won’t fit in the airfryer. The basket has been filled above the MAX
indicator.
Remove all food that is above the MAX
indicator in the basket.
White smoke escapes from the airfryer. You are cooking fat dishes. Oil from fat dishes may generate a harmless
white smoke.
There may be some fat residue that was let
behind in the aifryer.
Cool down and properly clean the airfryer.
Fresh fries are unevenly cooked. The fries have not been properly
soaked before cooking.
Soak the fries for 30 minutes in water and dry
properly before cooking.
The potato is not the proper type for fries. User fresh potatoes that are suited for chips.
Add some drips of cooking oil.
