4.9  Refueling:

BXTR6438

 fuel tank holds 12 gal US (50 L) of fuel, 

and is located in front of the engine. Avoid running 

the tank dry. Use the appropriate grade of fuel, and 

use caution to prevent spilling. 

Do not smoke while 

refueling.  

 
To add fuel:
1. 

Allow the engine and muffler to cool.

2.  Clean area around fuel compartment lid, and open it.
3.  Remove cap.
4. 

Using a clean funnel, fill fuel tank to 1/2" (13 mm) 

below bottom of filler neck to provide space for any 

fuel expansion. 

Do not overfill.

5. 

Install fuel fill cap securely and wipe up any spilled 

fuel.
