9.5.3 Clean the Engine Air Filter
IMPORTANT! Operating the engine without an air filter, or
with a damaged air filter, can let dirt to enter the engine,
causing rapid engine wear. This type of damage is not
covered by the warranty.
Clean the air filter every 100 hours of operation or annually.
A dirty air filter can restrict air flow to the engine and decrease
the engine performance. If the engine is operated in very dusty
areas, clean the air filter more often than specified
.
1.
Open the two air-filter cover latches.
2.
Remove the cover.
3.
Remove the air filter.

If the air filter is excessively dirty or damaged, replace it
with a new air filter.

9.6 Battery Maintenance
The battery provides power to the electrical components on the
machine and the engine.
9.6.1 Battery Safety
WARNING!
Warm the battery to a minimum
of 60 °F (16 °C) before charging
it. Attempting to charge a frozen
battery can cause it to explode. An
explosion can cause serious injury or
death from projectiles, extreme heat,
chemicals, and loud noise.
