Press yes to return R0 to its original value or press no to leave R0 set
to 100.00 ohms.
4.3. Probe Calibration
There are two methods of calibrating the probe to the meter. The first method is done
without the aid of the “Probe (system) Calibration” routine found under the “Select
Calibration to Perform” window. For this method, a precision 4-wire ohmmeter is
required. The second method can be used if a precision 4-wire ohmmeter is not
available.
Probe with Precision 4-wire Ohmmeter Calibration
1.
Insert the probe (disconnected from the Digistem) into an ice bath
and allow it to stabilize.
2.
Measure its resistance with a precision 4-wire ohmmeter.
3.
Enter the measured resistance value into the R0 field of the
Calibration software.
4.
Click the “SET” button.
Probe without Precision 4-wire Ohmmeter Calibration -
Probe (system) Calibration Window
1.
Click on the “Select Calibration to Perform” drop down box, and select
“Probe (system) Calibration”
2.
Click the “Calibrate” button
3.
“Placing probe in Ice Bath” window will open. Place probe in Ice Bath
and allow to stabilize.
4.
Click “Next” button. (Click “Cancel” to abort the calibration)
5.
“Waiting for stabilization” window will appear for 10 seconds, followed
by “Averaging Samples” window. When the sample count gets to 10
the “Capture R0 button will become active. The software continues to
collect samples at approximately once per second and displays a
“running average” of the most recent 10 samples. This allows the user
to verify the probe has stabilized in the ice bath.
6.
When the probe stability is acceptable, click “Capture R0”.
7.
“Capture R0” window will appear asking if you wish to use this value
for R0
. Click “Yes” to capture or “No” to return to the Averaging
samples window. The unit will continue to collect samples and display
them. You may re-capture R0 or Cancel to exit the program.
