4.2 "Setupmenu.sh" Update Tool
To start the update tool, enter
./Setupmenu.sh
(please pay attention to the two
first characters) on the Linux console and then confirm by pressing the
<ENTER> key.
4.2.1 Main
Menu
Once the program is started, you can select four submenu items with different
functionalities from the main menu.
i) INSTALLATION
Install root file system
Note:
If an installation already exists on the system
everything will be deleted and installed freshly
c) CONFIGURATION
Change IP address and/or root file system
in an already installed system
u) UPDATE
Update Linux Kernel, root file system or
Kbus
Firmware
q) QUIT

4.2.2 “INSTALLATION”
Submenu
An IPC can be completely reinstalled using the sub-menus from the
“INSTALLATION” main menu. This may be necessary, for example, when
upgrading the Linux kernel from version 2.4 to version 2.6, or if a completely
different Linux distribution is required in the future. For safety reasons, we
recommend you to partition the file system.
Note
The network parameters are deleted during this type of installation. They
must be reset to the desired parameters using =>c) CONFIGURATION.
