Installation and configuration
STEP 1: Install telephone line
Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the telephone line jack on the back of the telephone base.
Then plug the other end of the cord into the modular wall telephone outlet.
STEP 2: Install DSL filter (optional)
If there is interference during telephone conversations and/or your caller ID features are not functioning

STEP 3: Install ethernet cable
Using the yellow ethernet cable provided, connect one end into the yellow port labelled INTERNET,
located on the back of the telephone base and connect the other end into an available LAN port on
your broadband router.
STEP 4: Power on
Plug the telephone base power adapter into the power port located on the back of the ip8300 telephone
base and the other end into the electrical outlet. This turns the telephone on. Do
NOT interrupt the
telephone installation process by unplugging the power or by using the handsets until the POWER ,
INFO and INTERNET indicator lights on the front of telephone base have change to steady.

Installation and configuration
STEP 5: Check diagnostic LEDs
Refer to the Status of indication light section on page 4 for more information
on the diagnostic LEDs.
The POWER light should be steady on.
The INTERNET light should be steady on indicating a good physical
connection from the telephone base to your router.
