Lets go!

1. Remove the interior light, sun visors, rear view mirror and all the other items to free the headliner.

2. Remove the headliner by pulling down one of the edges with a finger and the thumb as shown in the

figure at the end of the sheet. Remove headliner all around by pulling down the plastic trim. NOTE, how

the plastic trim is folded! Take down the roof bows beginning from the back by bending them down in the

middle and removing them from the edge of the roof as shown in the figure at the end of the sheet.

3. Number the roof bows from the front to the back, make a note which side is up. Verify that the rails are

OK.

4. Tip! Reassemble the screws from all the removed items from step one. This makes it easier to find the

holes for all the screws when the headliner is mounted.

5. Fit the roof bows in the new headliner in the right order and up/down. Hang up the headliner and cen

-

ter it.

6. Start tucking the plastic trim into the rail, start in the middle of the front (windshield) and work your

way out to the A-pillar.

7. Then stretch the headliner backwards by pulling both ends of the first roof bow at the same time. Fol

-

low with number 2 and so on. NOW it is important that the headliner had become soft by a nice tempera

-

ture. Repeat the same procedure in the back as when mounting in the front (all the way to the D-pillar).

8. Now mount the plastic trim at the door side sections. Start in the rear by one of the D-pillars just under

the last roof bow, make sure you get a good start w/o folds. This will guarantee you get an easier job wor

-

king your way forward. Take a bit at the time and move over to the other side for good results. If you’re a

not pleased, remove and restart.

Preparation:

At least one week before mounting the headliner you should unpack

and unfold the headliner and place it in a spot with room temperature.

Many other cars & brands with a “hanging” headliner it is

recommended to be placed in the sun for a while to get rid of wrinkles

and other material “prints” which has arisen during storage. This will

also help the material to become softer when mounting.

This preparation method can be applied to almost all vinyl headliners.

The mounting should be done in a temperate place to simplify the

process. For help it could be good to have a heat gun or a small heating

fan. Just beware of the overheating danger. If the windows and the seats

are disassembled the replacing of the headliner will be easier.

This is only a general understanding of how to assemble a headliner, in this case a PV with a vinyl

headliner. Works in the same way for Amazon (122),Duett (210).

Tools

Not necessary, but some kind

of heat source as mentioned

above. Maybe some kind of a

spatula, you may need it when

getting the plastic trim into the

roof rail.

Attention – No sharp edges!
