Opening and closing the power
tailgate

The tailgate can be opened and closed auto-
matically with the power trunk release.
Opening
To open the power tailgate, do one of the fol-
lowing:
–
Press and hold the button on the
remote key until the tailgate begins to
open.
–
Press and hold the button on the
dashboard until the tailgate begins to
open.
–
Press lightly on the tailgate's outside han-
dle.
–
Move your foot in a kicking motion

under
the rear bumper.
Closing
To close 13 the power tailgate, do one of the
following:
13 Vehicles equipped with keyless locking and unlocking

have a button for closing and a button for closing and locking.
