The pressure valve, which is placed in the tube be-
tween the thermostat housing and the coolant pump,
increases the pressure in the inner circuit when the
main thermostat is closed, especially at low engine
speed. This improves circulation in the heating system
circuits.

The Fig. shows valve opening under load.

Remove the pump cover and flange.

Press out the shaft enough to loosen the impeller.
