Backlash occurs due to incorrect use of the hedge
trimmer or work procedures not suitable for the work
performed. Loss of hedge trimmer control can cause
serious injury. The following precautions must be taken
to avoid backlash:
- Place and hold the rotary accessory in the correct
position and tighten it securely;
- Do not position your body in the area to which the tool
will be used afterwards in case of a backlash;
When the rotary accessory locks, immediately turn the
tool off.

Make sure that the ventilation grids are not
obstructed during operation. Do not insert any
objects into the ventilation grids;
▪
The blade and hedge trimmer may become too
hot during operation. Avoid touching them, they
may cause burns. Wear protective gloves when
handling the blade;
Maintenance and cleaning
Remove the battery from the power tool before start
cleaning, adjustment, repair or maintenance work.
Replace worn out or damaged parts immediately so that
the power tool is always operational and in a safe
operating condition.
Cleaning
Always keep the power tool clean and dry, free of oil,
grease and lubricants. Clean all components and
accessories of the power tool after use.
Do not use strong cleaning agents. These products can
damage plastics and metals and impair the safe
operation of your power tool.
Maintenance work
Maintenance work may only be carried out as described
in this instruction manual; all other work must be
carried out by an official distributor.
Keep all nuts and screws tighten so that the power tool
can operate safely.
If components or safety devices are removed for
maintenance work, they must be replaced correctly
immediately.
Use only attachable tools or accessories authorized by
VITO for this power tool or technically identical parts.
Otherwise injury or damage to the power tool may
occur. In case of doubt or if you lack the necessary
knowledge and means, you should contact an official
dealer.
Technical Assistance
The power tool should only be repaired by the brand's
service department, or by qualified personnel, with
original spare parts only.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Battery assembly
1. Insert the battery (8) into the hedge trimmer fitting
and press the battery until you hear the "click noise" of
the battery lock/unlock button. At this point the
battery is completely secured;
2. To remove, press the Battery lock/unlock button
and pull out the battery;
Only use VITO 20V lithium batteries.
Battery charging
1. Place the battery in the charger as if you placed it
in the hedge trimmer;
2. Plug the charger plug into the socket and let it
charge.
Sometimes at the end of charging, both the battery
and the charger may be hot, which does not mean that
they are malfunctioning.
Allow the battery to cool down before putting it in the
machine.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
When working with the hedge trimmer, you should
consider some care and use procedures:

Do not apply too much pressure on the hedge
trimmer against the workpiece/object;
▪
When the blade locks, immediately turn off the
hedge trimmer. Avoid high reaction torques that
cause the backlash;
▪
Never put the hedge trimmer down before the blade
has come to a complete stop;
