The Berry BM1000 is an optional pulse oximeter device
that measures blood oxygen saturation (%SpO
2
) and
uploads readings automatically using Bluetooth. The
device is clipped onto the fingertip to take a reading.
Your care team may direct you to take an oxygen
saturation reading with the Berry BM1000A on a regular
schedule (for example, one or more times per day).
Refer to the Berry BM1000
Operator’s Manual
for basic
instructions on setting up the device, usage instructions,
and error messages.
Note:
Monitor battery life and replace batteries as
necessary.
1. Set Up and Confirm Bluetooth is ON
Refer to the Berry BM1000
Operator’s Manual
for
complete instructions. See figure to the right.
a.
Press the
Power
button once to power-on the device.
The display will illuminate.
b.
Squeeze the back of the device to open. Insert a
finger into the device so that the display is facing
towards you. The finger should be fully inserted. The
device will begin to display %SpO
2
.
c.
Operate the device as follows:
–
If the display is upside-down, tap the button once
to flip the display.
–
To silence the beep, tap the button twice in rapid
succession.
–
Ensure Bluetooth is ON. Check the Bluetooth
indicator in the display. The indicator will be
displayed when Bluetooth is ON. If it is not ON,
use a long button press to turn it ON.
–
To power-off the device, press and hold the button
until the display turns off.
d. After confirming operation, continue to the next step
to pair.
2. Take a Reading in VistaPoint
See figure on the next page.
a. Apply the Berry BM1000 to the finger. Power-on as
described above.
b.
Tap
Take SpO2
in the Oxygen Saturation tile
(or
Take a Measurement
on VistaPhone and then
Take SpO2
).
c.
Tap
Use Bluetooth
and then tap
Pair New
.
d.
Tap
Berry BM2000A/BM1000
as the model.
e.
“Scanning for Devices” will display. Tap the Bluetooth
