Video Adjustment
Certain video parameters of the MFR camera can be adjusted by sending a serial data packet to the
camera, the format of the data is based on the PelcoD protocol.
Connect a serial comms client, such as TeraTerm set to 9600 baud 8n1 to the RS232 comms port of
the camera and build a PelcoD packet as described.
If the MFR is fitted with an IP Encoder it is also possible to send the packet across a TCP/IP
connection.
The PelcoD ‘Go To Preset’ message type is used for controlling the parameters, the format of the
PelcoD packet is as follows:
Synch Byte
Address
Command 1
Command 2
Data 1
Data 2
CheckSum
0xFF
0x01
0x00
0x07
0x00
0xnn
0xnn
All values shown are hexadecimal (base 16).
The CheckSum is the 8 bit (modulo 256) sum of the bytes from the Address byte up to and including
the Data 2 byte.
The 0xnn value in the Data 2 byte defines the camera controlling parameter. All supported
parameters are listed in the table on the next page.
