PowerCode Pendant Transmitters

Installation Instructions

,1752'8&7,21

The MCT-201 is a miniature pendant UHF transmitter, designed
for use in advanced, high-security alarm and remote control
systems. When enclosed in a waterproof case, this transmitter’s
reference designation is MCT-201WP. Transmission is activated
by depressing the recessed pushbutton at the center of the unit.
When activated, each transmitter sends out a 24-bit ID code and
an alarm code, identifiable by compatible wireless receivers of
the MCR family. Each transmitter's code is randomly selected in
the factory from 16 million possible combinations. The code is
therefore unique and virtually impossible to reproduce.

Operating power is obtained from an internal 12-volt alkaline
battery. An LED lights during transmission, indicating the battery
voltage condition (it lights provided that the battery voltage
exceeds 8 VDC). If the LED does not light during transmission,
the battery must be replaced immediately.

In addition, a transmitter with such a low battery will automatically
send a low battery code with each transmission.

Compatible receivers are designed to identify this code and
operate audible or visual alert devices.

All MCT-201 units are supplied with the chain installed, to be
worn around the neck as a pendant transmitter. A key ring is also
included in the package, for use in place of the chain.

A. To open the case, refer to Figure 2. Insert an 1/8 inch

screwdriver blade in the slot at the bottom of the case. Press
the blade inward, applying moderate pressure, and while
pressing, swing the handle slightly down until the covers
partially separate.

Warning!  Do not try to open the case by inserting a
screwdriver in places other than the slot. This can damage
the transmitter.

B. Gently complete separation of the front and back covers with

your fingers.

C. Insert the 12-volt alkaline battery (Duracell MN-21 or Golden

Power GP-23A or equivalent) between the battery clips, so
that the (+) and (–) markings on the battery are in the same
direction as the markings on the rear half of the case (close to
each battery clip). Check that the battery is held securely by
the battery clips.

D. Gently press the pushbutton switch and verify that the LED

lights, indicating good battery condition.

The MCT-201WP is a waterproof version of the MCT-201
transmitter. Waterproof units are shipped fully assembled but not
closed, to permit insertion of the battery before final sealing. The
case is made waterproof when its two halves are assembled and
secured together with 4 screws.

To prepare the unit for use, separate the two halves of the case
and lay the unit down on its back as shown in Figure 3.
Insert the cylindrical 12

V battery between the battery clips.

Observe polarity!
Reassemble the two halves of the case and lay the unit face
