Cleaning the ductwork
Clean the ducts with a special tool available commer-
cially. Clean the ducts via the air vents and air distribu-
tor or via the inspection ports.
Cleaning the grilles in the wall ducts and outdoor/exhaust air add-ons
Remove contamination on the grilles with a soft brush
or dustpan brush.
If the grille is heavily contaminated, dismantle and
wash the wall duct and/or grille. Use only commercially
available domestic cleaning agents, no scouring
agents. Do not use a high pressure cleaner.
Only install the grilles when dry.
Cleaning ductwork with an iris diaphragm
If an iris diaphragm is installed in the ductwork, note
the diaphragm settings before opening. Fully open the
iris diaphragm. After cleaning, return the diaphragm to
the correct setting. Loosen the locking screws to
change the setting.
