Installation of the V960D-KIT
The illustrations below explain the installation of the V960D-KIT, which allows the V960D Series of Indoor
Camera Domes to be installed into a ceiling (or wall). The kit includes the mounting bracket, trim ring, a
template and the hardware required.
The ceiling/wall material must provide suitable strength to support the weight of the V960D dome (0.9 lb,
400 g). Be sure the area around the selected location is clear of obstacles (such as steel beams, headers,
pipes, electrical wiring, etc.) that would interfere with mounting. Video and power cables must be routed to the
location. Refer to the installation manual for the V960D Camera Dome, XX224-3X, for complete instructions.
1. The mounting bracket and trim ring are packaged assembled. Remove the captive screws to separate
the mounting bracket from the trim ring. Be sure not to lose the screws and washers that hold the
screws captive.
2. Detach the inner trim ring from the large trim ring by cutting the four (4) tabs with a utility knife. Shave
down any remaining tabs until flush. Refer to Figure 1.
3. Using the template provided, cut a hole in the ceiling or wall.
4. Install the mounting bracket into the ceiling cutout hole. Be sure the toggle bolts are situated in the
notches of the cutout. The height of the mounting bracket can be adjusted by loosening the screws and
moving the bracket up or down in the slot. Retighten the screws. Refer to Figure 2.
5. Tighten the toggle bolts until the mounting bracket is secure.
6. Remove the dome cover. Attach the camera mounting base to the bracket in the proper holes, noted in
Figure 3, using two (2) #8-32 x 5/8” pan head screws provided. Note that there may be extra hardware
provided that is not used in this installation.
7. Connect power and video cables and make any necessary zoom and focus adjustments to the camera.
Refer to the camera manual XX224-3X as needed. Reinstall the dome cover.
8. Make sure the camera dome is firmly up into the ceiling/wall and secure the trim ring to the mounting
bracket using the trim ring captive screws.
