INSTALLATION AND OPERATION

FIXED MINI DOME
1. INTRODUCTION
The information in this manual covers the installation
and maintenance of the
Fixed-Ceiling
can. Read these instructions through completely before
performing any installation procedures.
This unit should be installed by a qualified technician
using approved materials and wiring practices in accord-
ance with national, state, and local wiring codes.
The
Omniscan is designed to accommodate
small monochrome and color solid-state cameras for
installations where discreet surveillance is a necessity.
This unit is designed to be mounted in a drop ceiling,
although it may be installed in other types of ceilings.
A mounting rail option (Model
is available
for installations requiring additional support, and a steel
ceiling panel option (Model
is available to
replace the existing ceiling tile.
The viewing dome of the
is tinted neutral gray
overall, and the interior surface is painted flat black,
except for a narrow viewing strip. The combination of
tinted plastic and the painted interior makes it virtually
impossible to see into the dome. Attached by clips and
nuts, the dome is easily removed to simplify installation
and service.
2. INSTALLATION
2.1 Unpacking and Inspection
equipment is tested and inspected before leaving
the factory. It is the carrier’s responsibility to deliver the
equipment in the same condition as it left the factory.
2.1.1 INSPECTION FOR VISIBLE DAMAGE
Immediately inspect the cartons upon delivery. Make a
note of any visible damage on all copies of the carrier’s
freight bill.
2.1.2 INSPECTION FOR CONCEALED
DAMAGE
As soon as possible after delivery, unpack the unit and
inspect it for concealed damage. Do not discard the carton
or packing materials. If the unit is damaged, contact the
carrier immediately and request forms for filing a damage
claim. Make arrangements for a representative of the
carrier to inspect the damaged equipment.
Make sure the carrier’s agent (the person making the
delivery) signs the note on all copies of the bill. If the agent
does not have claim forms, contact the carrier’s office.
If the equipment must be returned for repair, follow the
Shipping Instructions at the end of this manual.
