Transverse distribution
The spreading pattern is determined by the transverse distribution.
This is done through the adjustable discharge point.
A handle is mounted at the side of the spreader for setting the
discharge point. This determines the point where the fertiliser
granules come into touch with the vanes of the spreading disc. This
‘discharge point’ setting depends on the type of fertiliser used and the
flowrate in kg/min. This should be adjusted in accordance with the
values given in the spreading chart in order to achieve good
transverse distribution.
The spreading pattern is normally a triangle that completely overlaps.
A trapezoidal spreading pattern may result, depending on the
application rate and working width. This spreading pattern has an
overlapping area of less than 100%.
I
NDICATION
Check the accuracy of the discharge point by conducting spreading
pattern tests (tray test).
See section »Spreading pattern check (tray test)« on page 131.
I
NDICATION
Take note of the exact driving distance and lay tramlines.
If you want to change the application rate or switch to a different
fertiliser type (with similar working width and driving speed), you only
have to change the application rate setting on the ‘working width and
application rate’ screen of the control system and possibly also adjust
the 'discharge point'.
