Crate packaging

20

Connecting the 

steering rods

The steering is preset at the factory.

Connect the clevis of the front steering rod to the adapter of the 
middle steering rod. 

Insert the threaded pin.

Place a washer onto the pin.

Secure the threaded pin with a self-locking nut.

Connect the clevis of the middle steering rod to the adapter of the 
rear steering rod. 

Insert the threaded pin.

Place washers onto the pin.

Secure the threaded pin with a self-locking nut.

On machines which are fitted with the optional night swath equipment 
[+], a hydraulic steering rod is used in place of the front steering rod.

See chapter »Night swath equipment [+]«, »Installing the hydraulic 
steering rod« on page 58.

Do not overtighten the self-locking nuts. 

The steering rods must be fitted in such a way that the clevises are 
free to move. Otherwise, the machine may be damaged.
