MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Checking for redness of the skin
Check your skin regularly for redness, especially during the first few days. If redness
occurs and does not disappear after 15 minutes, stop using the Allrounder. Consult
your therapist or dealer.
Use at high altitude
Because each SmartCell™ is filled with air, the Allrounder may behave differently
when used at high altitude or in an aircraft. Under such circumstances, the cushion’s
firmness can be adjusted by removing a few cells from each compartment. Vicair
recommends not to use the Allrounder above 2400 m (8000 ft) ASL (above sea level).
Water
The Allrounder has been designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Although it has
a water-resistant cover, the Allrounder is not waterproof. Do not take the Allrounder
under water. If the Allrounder gets very wet during use (e.g. when sailing or
canoeing), it must be allowed to dry completely before re-use.
Use during watersport
Vicair advise you to wear a life jacket when using an Allrounder during watersport
activities.
Use in motor vehicles
Normal wheelchair cushions can render the vehicle’s seatbelt system unreliable. The
Allrounder can be used as a safe alternative if you require additional protection during
transportation.
Transferring the Allrounder to another user
Before allowing a second person to use the Allrounder, clean the inner cushion and
wash the seat cover. Disinfect both parts. Make sure the cushion is correctly adjusted
to the second person.
Replacing the seat cover
Under normal use, Vicair recommends replacement of the seat cover every year.
Replacement covers can be purchased separately.
Flammability
Do not use or leave the Allrounder close to a naked flame or a high temperature heat
source.
Caution: Do not steam clean or autoclave the Allrounder. The Allrounder cannot
withstand excessive heat or pressure.
