16 Using your ViasatHD box

Switching on for the first time
Make sure your TV is also switched on . About one minute after you connect your box to
the power supply, the front-panel indicators illuminate briefly, and then the standby (
S
)
indicator lights up green .
The
First Installation Setup > Country screen appears .
Press
U
,
D
,
L
or
R
to highlight your country, then press OK .
The next screen is LNB Setup , followed by Default Transponder , Signal Test and, if an HD TV is
connected,
HD TV Setup
.
If you want to proceed to the next screen, using your box’s factory settings, press OK . Or,
press BACK to return to the previous screen .
Note
If you want to change specific settings on a setup screen, these are described on pages 35 and 36 .
Then press OK to continue .
If First Installation Setup is successful, digital TV on channel position 3 appears on your TV .
If there is no signal, check your installation . Check all the connections are properly made .

Switching between standby and On

To put your box into standby, press the
S
button on your remote control or on
your box’s front panel .

To take your box out of standby, press the
S
button on your remote control or
on your box’s front panel .
Power Saving - To save power and money, and to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions, when you are not using your box, please put it into standby mode.
Remember that your box also consumes less power in standby than when it is
fully On (see also page 3).
