7.5 Manually resetting the blank
changer to default position
CAUTION
Cutting injuries when
touching a rotating tool
If a power failure or a machine malfunction occurs
during machining, the spindle including the inserted
tool keeps rotating. If you touch the rotating tool, you
will suffer from cutting injuries.
Wait until the spindle has stopped rotating before
performing an emergency opening.
In some cases (e. g. when a power failure occurs) the
blank changer may not be able to move back into
default position. This will produce an emergency stop
signal when the machine is started and the machine
will not reference.
In this case a manual reset of the blank changer to
default position is required.
1. Open the working chamber door. If necessary, per-
form an emergency opening of the working cham-
ber door.


2. Switch off the machine at the main power switch.
Disconnect the machine from the eletrical source.
3. Disconnect the machine from the external com-
pressed air supply.
4. Open the blank magazine door.
5. With one hand open the blank changer flap
(marked orange) in the working chamber.
6. With the other hand push the blank changer car-
riage (marked blue) towards the blank magazine
until you can reach the blank gripper (marked
green).

7. If there is a blank frame in the blank gripper, open
the gripper and remove it.
8. Close the blank gripper.
9. Push the blank changer carriage completely
towards the blank magazine.
10. Push the blank gripper into the end position at the
left side of the machine.
11. Open the blank gripper.
The blank changer is in the default position.
12. Close the working chamber door.
13. If you performed an emergency opening, reactivate
the safety interlock of the working chamber door.


14. Close the blank magazine door.
15. Connect the machine to the external compressed
air supply.
16. Connect the machine to the electrical source
17. Switch on the machine at the main power switch.
18. Start the CAM computer.
