SIGNAL WORDS
This manual uses SIGNAL WORDS to indicate the likelihood of personal injuries, as well as the probable
seriousness of those injuries, if the product is misused in the ways described. Other signal words call
attention to uses of the product likely to cause property damage. The following are signal words used in
this manual and their definitions.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Vestil strives to identify all hazards associated with the use of our products. However, material
handling is dangerous and no manual can address every risk. The most effective way to avoid injury is
for the end-user to exercise sound judgment whenever using this product.
Improper or careless operation might result in serious personal injuries or death.
•
Read and understand the entire manual before assembling, installing, using, or maintaining the
platform system. Read the manual whenever necessary to refresh your understanding of proper use
and maintenance procedures.

DO NOT exceed the capacity of any component. Capacity information appears on label 1153. See

DO NOT use the platform if any unusual noise or movement is observed while weight is applied. If a
malfunction occurs, tag the system “Out of service” and notify your supervisor or maintenance
personnel about the issue.

DO NOT use the stairway UNLESS it is securely fastened to the floor.
•
DO NOT use the platform system as storage space.
•
DO NOT remove or obscure any label. All product labels must be easily readable.
•
DO NOT modify any component of the system without first obtaining written approval from Vestil.
