Chapter 10: Installing the Wave Recording Archive Service

Wave Server Installation Guide

Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation. If you are prompted to 
restart the archive server PC, do so.

16.

After the archive server PC restarts, enable SQL Server 2005 Express to accept external 
connections (this option is disabled by default.) To do so:

a.

From the Windows Desktop, click 

Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 

2005 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Surface Area Configuration

.

b.

In the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration tool, click 

Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections

.

c.

Select 

Remote Connections

 in the left pane.

d.

Select 

Local and remote connections and Using TCP/IP only

 in the right pane.

e.

Click 

OK

 to save your changes and then exit the configuration tool.

On the Windows Desktop right-click My Computer, and then click 

Manage

.

18.

Expand Services and Applications, and then click 

Services

.

19.

In the Services pane, scroll to 

SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER)

. Right-click it, and then click 

Properties

.

20.

On the General tab, click 

Stop

 and then click 

Start

 to restart the SQL Server Express 

service.

To install the Recording Archive Service:

Run the Vertical Wave Services Setup from the following location on the Wave Server. 
replacing <Wave Server Host Name> with the IP address of the Wave Server on your 
local network: 

ftp://<Wave Server Host Name>/public/workstationapps/ServicesSetup.exe

22.

When Services Setup starts, follow the on-screen instructions. During installation, you 
may receive an error stating that the system could not install C++ SP1. To resolve this 
error:

a.

Cancel the installation. 

b.

Download the contents of the ftp://<Wave Server Host 
Name>/public/workstationapps/ folder onto the Archive Server PC.

c.

Run ServicesSetup.exe again from the local copy.
