Step 1:
Follow steps under “Hydraulic Fluid Strainer -
Inspect,”
Step 2:
Remove lug nuts (1).
Step 3:
Remove wheel and rim.
Step 4:
Pull brake hub (2). If hub is tight, use a wheel
puller for removal.
Step 5:
Remove seal (3) and inspect for damage.
Replace if damaged.
Step 6:
Remove inner bearing (4).
Step 7:
Wash cone bearings and inside the hub with
solvent and wipe clean.
NOTE:
When repacking, be sure grease is worked into
the roller retainers from the edge to fill the entire
bearing with grease.
Step 8:
Install inner bearing (4).
Step 9:
Install seal (3).
Step 10:
Install outside bearing (5).
Step 11:
Slide brake hub (2) onto the spindle.
NOTE:
When sliding hub onto spindle, watch that the outside bearing (5) does not work out of hub.
