Configuring the I/Os
You can program alarms (or events) or use the audio features of devices with a single video
input, using the supplied alarm/audio cable (CABAA).
The S4200 supports two alarm inputs, one alarm output, one audio input, and one audio
output. Each signal has a dedicated purpose:
You cannot program PTT audio and alarms at the same time, since alarm input 1 is used in
both contexts.
Since the S4200 transmitters are mostly used with a video management software, you will
perform most configuration and activation steps in it. Otherwise, in a point-to-point
connection, use SConfigurator for setup.
Alarms
The S4200 device can generate and receive alarms. Typically, an alarm is generated on a
transmitter and acknowledged on a receiver (for instance, an S1970e-R). To generate an
alarm on an S4200 transmitter, you have to short the alarm input 1 and alarm ground pins.
The output relay on the receiver is configured to close the contact between the two alarm
output pins (up to 48V at 100 mA) upon alarm activation. For example, with an S1970e-R
receiver:
