2. Connect the document printer’s power cable to the back of the printer and then to an
appropriate power outlet (see Figure 2).

Turn the document printer switch on (see Figure 2).
This switch should always be left in the
ON position.
4. Your terminal will use a broadband internet connection to transmit data to the central Host
system in real-time. Using an Ethernet cable, connect one end to the source of your
broadband connection (may require a router) and the other end to the port labeled 10BaseT
on the back of the VeriFone terminal (see Figure 3).
5. Connect the VeriFone’s AC power adapter to the round port at the back of the VeriFone
terminal (See Figure 3). Make sure the notch on the power adapter is at the top. Once
inserted, turn the notch to securely lock in the cable. Now plug the AC power adapter into an
appropriate power outlet. (Note:
there is no power switch on the VeriFone
)
The terminal automatically powers up. The display shows “Loading”, followed by a series of
screens:
Then a series of “connecting”/“disconnecting” messages appears, followed by the sound of
the printer’s print cartridge moving.
The final screen of the initial set up is:

Chapter 2 – Notes:
If the document printer switch is not turned on, or the printer serial cable
is not connected correctly, the VeriFone terminal will display:
