VP-6R INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove pick-up bumper if applicable - save fasteners and unbolt filler tubes.
2. Remove pick-up bed and set bed front side down in upright position - save bed fasteners.
Be sure to attach ground strap from top of gas filler neck to existing gas tank ground on frame
longsill.
3. Installing Rear Hinge Assembly: See Dwg. 6106 Figure 3A and Dwg. 6103 Figure 3B
A. Fasten the lower rear hinge frame, squared on the rear of the longsills. The tube on the
lower rear hinge frame should be touching end of longsills. Be sure that the lower rear
hinge is square.
B. Fasten the upper hinge (with collars on the side of the plates toward inside of truck bed)
to rear bed channel and first cross member from rear of truck using existing bed bolts
(2 required each side). Be sure that the upper hinge is mounted square (not tapered)
with the bed cross members - same as lower hinge frame.
FORD - If it has a rear gas tank the right and left upper hinge assembly will have to be
cut off 3" as shown in Figure 3B. The right hinge will also have to be tapered
3" to clear the rear gas tank. Do not fasten upper hinges tight at this time.
