VEMCO – VR100 Receiver Operating Manual – Page 29
4.1 MAIN MENU
The Main menu is the first display seen on the LCD screen after the receiver has booted up. It’s from this
point that the choice between monitoring tags and configuring the receiver is made.
The LCD screen on the VR100 receiver has four lines for text, and each line may contain more than one
piece of information. The information found on the Main menu, and the buttons used with the screen, are
identified in the sketch and described below. These buttons will be used throughout the menu architecture.
4.1.1 Main Menu Explanations
The explanations given below correspond with the diagram of the Main menu above.
A)
Date and time:
The date and time are displayed on the VR100’s screen in the format
YYYY MM DD HH:MM:SS
.
Both the date and time can be manually set to any moment on any day, but as soon as the GPS locks
the date and time will be corrected to the local time based on the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)
and the offset entered in the VR100 by the user (see section 4.3.2.1).
B)
Date/Time source indicator:
This symbol indicates if the date and time are synchronous with the GPS. A negative symbol (-)
indicates the date and time are not currently in sync. A positive symbol (+) indicates the date and time
are in sync with the GPS, which is Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Section 5.3 has more
information on UTC.
