SPBS2 – REVERSING SONAR
1. Introduction
Thank you for buying the SPBS2 reversing sonar. This device will enable you to keep from
bumping into other cars when parking : the SPBS2 provides you with an audible warning when
your vehicle approaches an obstacle e.g. the vehicle parked behind yours.
Install the device in accordance with the instructions in this manual.
2. Operation
Operating voltage : DC 12V
Operating principle : the device uses ultrasonic waves to measure the distance to the object
behind your vehicle.
This product has the same characteristics as a safety alarm. The device
will detect the object behind your vehicle as you soon as you put the latter
into reverse.
There are three alarm zones :
distance to target
alarm sound
90cm - 65cm
long beeps
65cm - 40cm
short beeps
40cm - 20cm
continuous beep
Important remark : The sensors are mounted on the body of your vehicle and obviously
ignore the breadth of the rear bumper when measuring the distance
to the nearest object. Keep this in mind when backing up.
3. Detection Range
Some objects may be difficult to detect : sloping or thin objects, shrubs, etc.
