7.4. Return of switchgear

For an

Ormazabal

switchgear, an operating time of many

years is assumed. The “sealed pressure system” according to

IEC does not require refilling of the SF

-gas over the entire

operating time. Due to the high reliability of the switchgear,

arc faults are almost completely ruled out.

When handling a failed or disused switchgear, the national

health and safety guidelines must be observed.

The switchgear contains the fluorinated greenhouse gas

with 22.8t CO

equivalent, which is covered by EU

regulation 517/2014. SF

must be recovered and cannot be

released into the atmosphere.

When handling SF

, observe the standard IEC 62271-4.

All materials of this switchgear should be sent for recycling.
