6.2.8 Auto Channel Selection

ACS Auto-Test Results

Auto Channel Selection (ACS) results are reported in the Auto-Test Summary screen.

ACS analyzes the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. It analyzes the number of APs, co-channel and adjacent channels

interference as well as current utilization and noise levels on all the channels in order to recommend the best channel for a new

AP deployment.

In the 2.4 GHz frequency band, the ACS algorithm recommends a channel between 1 and 11.

In the 5 GHz frequency band, the ACS algorithm recommends a channel between 36 and 165. Note that the DFS channels are

excluded from this test.

Note that AP channel configuration, utilization, and noise levels are highly variable, therefore ACS recommendations can vary
