8. Setting Environment Variables
8.1 Before Beginning
Disregard this section if your PC system comes with the
equipment. In this case, all environment variables are set up
before shipping.
Before setting environmental variables in Windows:

Format your PC before installing the image acquisition program and viewer.

Do not install programs other than the imaging acquisition program and
viewer to avoid system errors.

Use the PC system for image acquisition only. It is recommended to use a
separate PC for image management.

Check PC’s BIOS settings
To check your PC’s BIOS settings :
1. Reboot the PC and go to the BIOS settings.
2. Set environment variables as indicated in Appendix E .
Before shipping, the PC is set as specified in Appendix E:
Checking PC BIOS settings. If the setting is different, set up
the environment variable according to Appendix E.
When you update the BIOS settings, the “EnhancedHalt
State (C1E)” option will be displayed.
