Restore
Caution
1. Restoring a backup file overwrites previous configuration settings and data.
2. After restoring a backup from another IDENTIKEY Appliance, re-licensing is necessary (see
section
).
3. If you have configured a Custom Encryption Pass Phrase, you will need to enter the Pass
Phrase during the Restore Wizard.
To restore a backup:
1.
In the Configuration Tool, click on System and select Backup & Restore.

Click on
Restore
and follow the instructions in the Restore Wizard. Step 2 of the Restore Wizard requests a
Pass Phrase configured for Custom Encryption (see section
):
if you have configured Custom Encryption, enter the Pass Phrase
if you have not configured Custom Encryption, click on
Next

After completion of the wizard, the file to be restored is first verified as a valid restore file. If the file is not a
valid restore file, feedback is displayed and the restore is canceled. If the file is a valid restore file, the
IDENTIKEY Appliance automatically reboots (see image to the right below).

When the file has been restored, log back into the IDENTIKEY Appliance Configuration Tool. Feedback on the
backup restore is displayed on the Status screen in the IDENTIKEY Appliance Configuration Tool (see image
below).
