Re-licensing
8.8 Re-licensing for an appliance restored to Factory Default
Caution
Re-licensing is not possible until you have contacted the supplier of your IDENTIKEY Appliance. Also
see the information on support in section
14.2 If you encounter a problem .
Restoring an appliance to Factory Default cleans the system and changes the Configuration Key. In this case, the
installed License is also removed, although still bound in the VASCO back-office to the old Configuration Key.
The procedure for re-licensing after returning an appliance to Factory Default, without restoring a backup requires:
1.
Contact your IDENTIKEY Appliance supplier for release of the appliance License from the old Configuration
Key.
2.
Accessing the Licensing wizard.
3.
Completing the Licensing wizard for a Commercial License, as explained in 5.3.10 Licensing Wizard .
Note
Returning an IDENTIKEY Appliance to Factory Default is not necessary if a backup is to be
restored to the appliance. In this case, the appliance is automatically returned to Factory Default
before the backup is restored. For more information on restoring a backup, please see
