9 OPERATION
9.1
Unit operation
Attention! Do not use the unit with out its protective cover. Always check
the unit's condition before you use it.
Before setting the unit into operation, check the unit's safety, especially for:
▪
On/Off stop control
▪
Gas lever and its holder
▪
Operation of protective devices
▪
Firmness, damage, and worn-out cutting components
▪
Grips/handles - must be clean and dry
9.2
Use of the belt
▪
Equip the attached harness.
▪
Turn on the engine, return the throttle lever to the lowest speed position, and put the
harness hook to the hanging part of the machine.
▪
Adjust the length of the harness so that the blade may be parallel to the ground in the
working position. In order to prevent slack during operation, turn up to ensure the extra
length of the band and not loose.
9.3
Engine starting (cold engine)
Attention! Never start the engine near the refueling site.
Important: Before starting the unit cut the cutting string to 13 cm in order to
avoid an engine overload during starting.
▪
Place the unit on a firm and flat surface. Make sure the cutting components do not touch
any items or the floor.
▪
Set the on/off stop control (7) to its "ON" position.
▪
Press primer bulb 7 to 10 times, until the air bubbles are out.
▪
Shift the choke lever (13) to its position marked “
”.
▪
Pull the starter rope grip a few times in order to provide the engine with enough fuel/air
mixture. Pull until the engine starts
▪
Keep running until the motor is warm enough.
▪
Move the choke lever around half open position.
▪
Apply full gas and. •Let the engine run for 10 seconds in order to heat up. Push briefly the
gas lever (9), the engine will idle.
▪
Move the choke lever (13) to its position marked “
”.
▪
If the engine does not start, repeat steps 2-10.
Attention! If the engine does not start after two attempts, try to start it
without choke. If even that does not work, then the engine is "flooded".
Follow the instructions specified in the chapter - "Engine does not start".
9.4
Engine starting (hot engine)
A hot engine is to be started without choke. Start it in the same way as a cold engine but make
the starting position around half way open.
