HORIZONTAL HANDLEBARS ADJUSTMENT
:
•
For guiding the machine on slopes or in confined spaces (near fences, walls, around trees, etc.).
Always switch off the engine before adjusting any handlebars position! There is the risk of losing control of your
machine!
When guiding your machine on a slope and driving along a contour, always walk a little lower than the machine is moving.
Always drive with the machine storing the cut vegetation downhill.

Loosen the plastic wing nut

on the joint at the top by about 5 turns.
•
Slightly lift the handlebars by the handles upwards, so that they can be turned to the side.
•
After fitting the pin into one of the grooves in the handlebar foot –

- tighten the plastic wing nut firmly, the washers under
the nut must not be loose.

The clutch lever on the right handle is used to engage the cutting disc drive clutch –
Fig.

. The lever features its
red
safety lock
against unintentional and unexpected drive starting.
CUTTING DISC DRIVE CLUTCH CLOSING:
The lever must be always entirely pressed towards the handle, otherwise the clutch slip may occur.
It is prohibited to remove any accumulated processed material that prevents the quick and smooth engagement
of the clutch by setting the cutting disc in motion using the controlled belt slip. First, you should empty the area
of the work tool and only after that continue working.
Whenever the clutch starts slipping, release the clutch control lever as fast as possible.
The cutting disk start is accompanied by partial slipping of the V-belt and associated accompanying phenomena (knocking,
whistling). When the belt has been run in, these effects usually disappear.
•
Place the end of the right hand palm onto the edge of the control lever
1
, fingers should be lying on the functional area of the lever
and should be directed to the right.
•
Press the red safety lock button with your thumb
2
.
•
By applying pressure with the palm, start to tilt the lever
1
towards the handle.
•
Move lever
1
towards the handle to engage the clutch.
CUTTING DISC DRIVE CLUTCH DISENGAGING:
Do not hold or slow down the lever during its movement back to the default position. Always release the lever
quickly, so that no slippage of the automatic cutting disc brake occurs.
•
Release control lever
1
, the lever will automatically return to its original position, where it will be locked by the red button of the
2
safety lock. The automatic brake will brake the cutting disc.
The braking time depends on the degree of brake wear.

MACHINE START:
Before starting reversing, especially when leading the machine on foot, make sure that there is enough space
behind you to safely manoeuvre the machine, and that the surface is free of bumps that would adversely affect
your stability.
•
Press the lever smoothly up to the handle, the machine will immediately move forwards or backwards, depending on which gear is
engaged.
•
Once you press the lever and the machine starts moving forward, adjust your walking speed to the machine speed!
MACHINE STOPPING:
•
Release the lower lever on the right handle, the machine will stop.
An exception is the carrier set with the Sulka, thanks to the higher total weight of the set, unexpected driving movement can
occur on sloping surfaces. Therefore, always secure the assembly against its movement by pressing the service foot brake of
the Sulka.
