
SPN 651 Fuel Injector
Circuit Description
The ECM controls the fuel injector by pulse width modulating
the voltage to the injector. If the ECM detects the fuel injector
voltage signal is not within the expected range, a fuel injector
control DTC is set.
Although the DTC indicates the fuel injector is faulty, the
technician must determine if the fault is in the control circuit
from the ECM or the +12v circuit from the main power relay.
NOTE:
Injector resistance between pins 1 and 2 should be
1.8-2.5 ohms at room temperature.
NOTE:
If an ignition coil fault code is active, the fuel injector is
turned off.
