Sensor Data Processing
Sensor data processing is involved in all functions and end-user
applications that use sensor data. This section only illustrates the flow of
sensor data to the Weather View application.
All raw sensor data is processed in the CDU before it is displayed in the
end-user applications. The processed data is then displayed in Weather
View as current weather data.
The principal service for sensor data processing is the SensorIO process. It
receives all data from the sensors and creates separate objects for the raw
data of each sensor. The object name indicates the measurement site and
sensor type.
The object name for an LLWAS wind sensor can be, for example,
WIND_SENSOR_SITE1. If the AviMet LLWAS system is integrated
with AviMet AWOS the LLWAS wind sensor might be called, for
example, LLWAS_WIND_SENSOR_SITE1 to separate it from other
wind sensors. This object then moves on to the corresponding
meteorological process, Vaisala_llwas_srv, that processes the data and
creates a new object that includes the final value, for example,
WINDAVE_SITE1, or LLWAS_WIND_SITE1). The contents of this
object are shown on the Weather View screen.
