Unscrew the retaining screw

and remove the air
intake pipe

from the intake stub.

Unscrew either the union nut on the gas valve assembly

or the union nut
(4)
between the flexible gas pipe
and the fixed gas pipe.

Remove the plugs of the ignition line

and of the
earth connection

from the ignition electrode.

Remove the plug
(4)
from the fan motor by pushing in
the latching lug.
9.
Remove the three plugs from the gas valve assembly

10. Remove the plug from the Venturi
(3)
by pushing in the
latching lug.
11. Release the cable harness from the clip on the gas
valve assembly retainer.
12. Unscrew the four nuts

13. Remove the entire compact thermal module
(2)
from
the heat exchanger
(1)
.
14. Check the burner and the heat exchanger for damage
and dirt.
15. If necessary, clean or replace the components accord-
ing to the following sections.
16. Fit a new burner flange seal.
17. Check the insulating mat on the burner flange and on
the back panel of the heat exchanger. If you notice any
signs of damage, replace the relevant insulating mat.

Cleaning the heat exchanger

Protect the hinged down electronics box against spray-
ing water.

Never undo the four nuts on the stud bolt

or tighten
them.

Clean the spiral immersion heater
(3)
of the heat ex-
changer
(4)
using water or, if required, vinegar (to a
maximum of 5% acid). Allow the vinegar to act on the
heat exchanger for 20 minutes.

Rinse away any loose dirt with a sharp jet of water or
use a plastic brush. Do not point the jet of water dir-
ectly at the insulating mat

on the rear of the heat ex-
changer.

The water flows out of the heat exchanger through
the condensate trap.

Check the surface of the burner

for damage. If you
see any damage, replace the burner.

Fit a new burner flange seal

Check the insulating mat

on the burner flange. If you
notice any signs of damage, replace the insulating mat.
