2.5 Motor protection

The pump motor has a locked thermal winding protection as over

load protection. In the event of excessive temperature or if the

motor is blocked, the vacuum pump switches off.

If the vacuum pump is switched off due to these safety precau-

tions, the error must be cleared manually: Unplug pumping unit

from power supply ‑> eliminate cause of error ‑> after a waiting

time of ca. 5 minutes switch pumping unit back on.

CAUTION

Limited winding protection in the case of supply

voltages less than 100 V.

In the case of supply voltages less than 100 V, the self‑

retention of the winding protection may be limited such

that the pump may automatically start up after cooling.

Take appropriate safety precautions.
