Dangers due to hot surfaces or overheating
Surface tempera-
tures
The surface of vacuum pumps can reach temperatures greater than
70 °C during operation, especially when vacuuming heated media.
ð
Avoid direct contact with the surface or wear heat-resistant
safety gloves if contact cannot be excluded.
ð
Provide contact protection if the surface temperature should be
elevated on a regular basis.
ð
Allow the vacuum pump to cool down before performing main-
tenance tasks.
Overheating
The vacuum pump can become damaged due to overheating. Po-
tential causes are insufficient air supply to the cooling fan and/or
non-compliance with minimum distances.
ð
When setting up the device, observe a minimum distance of 5
cm between the cooling fan and adjacent parts (e.g. housing,
walls, etc.).
ð
Always ensure that there is sufficient air supply; if necessary,
provide an external forced ventilation system.
ð
Place the device on a stable surface. A soft surface, e.g. foam as
sound absorber, can impair and block the supply of air.
ð
Clean dirty ventilation slots.
ð
Remove the cover hood used as transport protection before
you put the device into operation.
ð
Avoid applying too much heat due to hot process gases.
ð
Observe the maximum permissible media temperature accord-
ing to the technical data.
Ensure that signs are readable
