Transporting, Installation, and Wiring
Do not drop or apply strong impact on the product. Doing so may result in damaged parts or malfunction.
Do not connect an AC power supply voltage to the control input/output terminals. Doing so might result in
damage to the product.
Take sufficient shielding measures when using the product in the locations, subject to static electricity or
strong magnetic fields. Not doing so may result in damage to the product.
Prior to installation, inspect the motor to detect signs of damage during transport. Never use or
install a damaged motor, but submit a claim to the supplier and/or the transport company.
Electric data of the motor, valid for the rated power, can be found on the nameplate.
It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that the motor nameplate voltage and frequency are the same as
the mains supply.
Connection to the mains supply should only be executed by a recognized professional, respecting local
demands and regulations.
The user must ensure that the diameter of the cable is adequate for the voltage and current involved. (See
nameplate data of motor)
The motor must be protected against overloads and short-circuits.
When installing the motor, always connect the earth (ground). Elnor recommends that you do not use earth-
leakage circuit breakers but take alternative measures. The frequency converter can cause a DC current
(mA range) in the PE conductor, which might result in a malfunction of the earth leakage circuit breaker.
Not connecting the earth can result in electricity buildup at the motor enclosure, which
poses risks to people touching the enclosure, and which can be a cause for sparks and
resulting explosion when the motor is used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Free circulation of fresh air for cooling the motor must be guaranteed, and the cooling fins of the cover must
be in the vertical plane.
The motor can be subjected to a 50HZ AC high-voltage testing of max 1,5kV.

Precautions for Correct Use
During normal operation, this motor can have rotating parts as well as hot surfaces.
Removing covers or improper use of this motor may result in severe injury to persons or property.
The motor may not be opened in the presence of potentially explosive atmospheres, or when
energized.
Only qualified technicians may service or open the motor, after observing a cooling-down period to
let the motor temperature decrease to ambient temperature. Always observe local regulations in
this respect.
