Fieldbus communication 

The drive will monitor at least three different indications for fieldbus fault when P2.13.22 State 
Machine 

“

2 / ProfiDrive

”

 is used: 

 

1. 

Internal monitoring form the fieldbus protocol. 

2. 

CW.B11 Watchdog pulse (If used) 

3. 

CW.B10 Fieldbus Control (Depending on used State Machine) 

4. 

CW.B15 (Profibus) 

 
If any of these indicates a problem in communication, all other control signals from fieldbus are 
frozen. 
 
With 

“FB Fault Delay” parameter

, it is possible to select how long the drive can stay running after the 

fault situation. By setting the parameter to zero, the drive will remain in running state 

“forever”

 when 

4 / Warning previous frequency is selected. When communication is established again, the drive will 
wait for 1 second before accepting commands from fieldbus. This allows the use of CW.B10 to 
indicate from the PLC side that communication is operational in a controlled way.

Set here the response for a fieldbus fault if the active control place is fieldbus. For more 
information, see the respective Fieldbus Board Manual.

= No response

= Warning

= Fault, stop mode after fault according to Stop Function

= Fault, stop mode after fault always by coasting 

4 

= Warning, Previous reference from 10 seconds. Forced fault after delay.

= Quick Stop, Action defined by P2.3.11.1 Quick Stop Mode is taken.

= Warning, Change control place to IO. 

 

 

P2.12.10.2 Fieldbus fault delay

This parameter defines for how long the drive will stay in run state after the 
communication has been lost if fault response is set to 4 / Warning, previous reference. If 
time is set to zero, the drive will remain running until communication is established and 
stop command is given. 
 

P2.12.10.3 Fieldbus Watch Dog delay 

ID1354  

“FB WD Delay”

 

 

Defines the delay after which a fault is generated if watch dog pulse is missing from
