Troubleshooting
This chapter lists faults that can be resolved easily by following the instructions provided.
If you are unable to resolve the fault, contact Customer Services. Before contacting
Customer Services:
Note down the serial number (on the identification plate).
Note down the events leading up to the fault.
Display message/fault
Remedy/actions to take
The appliance is not working
properly
Check whether the mains cable is correctly plugged into
the socket.
Check the fuse or circuit for your power supply and
replace if necessary.
The ambient temperature is too low. Try setting the room
temperature to a warmer level.
It is normal for the freezer compartment to stop operating
during the automatic defrost cycle, or for a short time after
the appliance is switched on, to protect the compressor.
Noise from the appliance
The following sounds are normal:
–
Compressor running noises.
–
Air movement noise from the small fan motor in the
freezer compartment or other compartments.
–
Gurgling sound similar to water boiling.
–
Popping noise during automatic defrosting.
–
Clicking noise before the compressor starts.
–
Bubbling noise due to refrigerant circulating through the
appliance.
Other unusual noises are caused by the following:
–
The cabinet is not level.
–
The back of the appliance is touching the wall.
–
Bottles or containers are knocking against each other.
The motor runs continuously
It is normal to hear the sound of the motor. It will need to
run more in the following circumstances:
–
The temperature is set colder than necessary.
–
A large quantity of warm food has recently been stored
in the appliance.
–
The temperature outside the appliance is too high.
–
The doors are kept open too long or too often.
–
After the appliance has been installed.
A layer of frost has appeared
on the rear wall.
Check that the air outlets are not blocked by food so that
sufficient ventilation can take place.
Ensure the door can be fully closed. To remove the frost,
refer to the chapter on cleaning and care.
