Selecting an operating mode
How to select an operating mode is explained by means of an example.
Assume you want to bake a cake in a 25 cm long cake tin.
The 'Tips on settings' section gives

The recommended cooking space temperature is given as a range to take account of
differences between recipes. For the first attempt, it is recommended the cooking
space temperature be set at the median value – in this example, 170 °C.

Put the wire shelf in the cooking space at level 1 .

Press the button once or more to select the desired operating mode – in this
example, top / bottom heat.
– The symbol illuminates.
– The symbol flashes.
– The recommended cooking space temperature flashes in the temper-
ature display.

Turn the adjusting knob to set the desired temperature – in this example,

The recommended cooking space temperature can be changed as long as the
symbol and the temperature display are still flashing. If they have
already stopped flashing, press the button.

roasting! Please first read the 'Safety precautions' section.
Preheat Level Time in mins.

If the cooking space temperature is not changed within the next 15 seconds,
the appliance switches on automatically.
